JUBILATE!

I'll be performing my one-woman play . . .

"This is marvellous - a real miniature drama crackling with comedy both dark and light"
Libby Purves

"I'm so glad I came - I was so impressed"
Barry Humphries

. . . at The Henley Fringe Festival, from Wed. 23rd - Sat. 26th July at 7pm,
at Dragon Court, 15 Station Road, Henley-on-Thames RG9 1AT

Box Office: 07528 483572 or www.henleyfringefestival.com,

Everyone knows someone who thinks they know best. In Jubilate! that someone is Anna, vicar's wife and radio personality. She has her own life sorted out - apparently - and now thinks it'd be a good idea to sort out everyone else's......oh dear.

THE COMEDY PROJECT

In March 2008 I contributed as writer and performer to the new season of The Comedy Project (www.comedyproject.co.uk) at the Soho Theatre. My new play Drastic Plastic was showcased on Wednesday March 19th.

"Change your body, change your life" - isn't that right, girls???

SEXOLOGICALLY SPEAKING

I was in two of a quartet of Carolyn Pertwee's excellent short plays from 15th to 18th November in a sell-out run at the O.S.O. in Barnes. (OSO Box Office: 020 8876 9885)  The evening was called Sexologically Speaking.  I appeared in Double Image and On Thin Ice.  The plays are sexy, funny and fab.

JUBILATE!

My one woman show, Jubilate!, enjoyed a successful run at The Tabard Theatre in October.

"I am so glad I came and I was so impressed by your acting and your writing. I particularly liked the way you preserved a narrative line throughout the evening, first inviting the audience into a cosy lecture and then leading them gradually, and always with comedy, into a darker world. Congratulations!"
Barry Humphries

"An astonishingly satisfying and thought-provoking evening - very funny and surprisingly moving too. JUBILATE! is a triumph."
Clive Evans, Producer, Nice Pictures Ltd.

"This is marvellous, a real miniature drama crackling with comedy both dark and light, performed with all the bravura accuracy of a 21st century Joyce Grenfell "
Libby Purves BBC Radio 4

"Brilliant! Every single word seemed to me the right word - beautifully written, impeccably observed, penetrating, witty - immaculately timed - very, very clever."
Sue Hamlyn

Jubilate! was premiered at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival (as Bruised Blueberries - reviews below). It also came in the top ten of a competition organised recently by The Literary Consultancy (TLC) - out of over 150 entries.

THE COMEDY PROJECT

I'm a core member of The Comedy Project (www.comedyproject.co.uk) which plays regular seasons at the Soho Theatre. We expect to be back in 2009.

Our recent seasons have been very successful and the feedback on my shows, Drastic Plastic (2008), Bruised Blueberries (2007) (now retitled Jubilate!) and Powercut (2006) was excellent.

"The dialogue, characterisation, plot and coups de theatre were brilliant"
Boris Rumney, writer (re Jubilate)

BRUISED BLUEBERRIES
Reviews

"This is a nicely balanced piece; a black comedy full of sharp observations and witty one-liners, with just the right amount of pathos"
The Scotsman

"Her chameleon-like transformations are delicious to watch....the result is a show that is funny, moving and beautifully observed"
